From the built-in bench (and amazing view!) in the entry, to the fun game room and bar on the lower level, I just love it all! I could get lost in the beachy color palette (hello there, turquoise home office!) and great design details in every single room. Did I mention the view?! Interior designer <a href="http://www.brendehome.com/" target="_blank">Jessica Brende</a> transformed a 1950's Malibu kitchen from a drab, linoleum-clad space into a breezy, beautiful dream kitchen! The homeowner actually grew up in <span style="font-size: small;">this</span> ranch-style house, but her parents sold it long ago. Eventually she was fortunate enough to buy it back, and give it a facelift. (I dream of doing that!) The color scheme was inspired by the gorgeous ocean-hued backsplash from <a href="http://www.walkerzanger.com/" target="_blank">Walker Zanger</a>, which looks amazing with the cabinets! Jessica actually kept the existing cabinetry, just freshened them up with the perfect custom paint color. We toured her previous Utah home <a href="http://www.houseofturquoise.com/2011/12/sita-montgomery.html" target="_blank">here</a> a couple years ago (time flies!) and it's fun to see the similarities to her new one. I love how open and bright this one feels, with so much great natural light! The subtle pops of color on the neutral background and the mix and match of patterns is just so pretty too! And the kitchen is perfection...I can see why it's one of her favorite spaces!
