One of the many highlights of my recent trip to NYC and Blogfest was visiting the Kips Bay Show House. My favorite space was this fabulous cabana, designed by New York City and Hamptons-based interior designer Scott Sanders (photographed here by Rikki Snyder and Nick Johnson). So much personality, so much turquoise, I love it! The fun Scalamandre sofa fabric is what first won me over...the pictures just do not do it justice! The Phillip Jeffries grasscloth wallcovering was also great–I've never seen it used in such a fun color!

Another highlight of Blogfest was touring the Kravet studio. Pretty sure that everyone there has landed their dream job! For starters, being surrounded (and I mean every which way!) by the most beautiful fabric, creative minds and nicest people ever, not to mention really cool technology, in a fabulous city like New York...I loved every minute I spent there. It was really neat to learn the behind-the-scenes stuff. My favorite moment was learning how they make their amazing Lee Jofa "Tree of Life" fabric. 300 of these intricate wooden blocks are used to create one repeat. And get this, the handblocks are almost 100 years old!!

Here's some more photos of the studio...so much beauty! I wish you could have all soaked it in with me!

Another highlight was our morning spent at the Hearst Tower, getting behind-the-scene info from some of my favorite magazines like House Beautiful (I loved hearing Editor in Chief Newell Turner talk!) and Veranda, as well as hearing from top designers. I don't know what I liked more, the beautiful pink peonies everywhere or the view once it cleared!!

Lastly, what an absolute pleasure it was getting to meet and hang out with some truly inspiring and talented design bloggers! It's always so much fun meeting people "in real life", when you feel like you've already known them forever! Here I am with the color-loving girls Maria Killam of Colour Me Happy and Laura Trevey of Bright Bold & Beautiful! (Thanks Laura for the cute pic!)

And my list of must-read blogs is now that much longer because of all the incredible new people I met! All in all, I think there were around 160 of us attending...here's just a small slice of my old and new friends!

Elizabeth Moyer of Pretty Pink Tulips, Kirsten Nease of Living In Design, Whitney Hoek of Between the Boxwoods, moi, Amy Meier of Amy Meier Design, Shelly Van Rozeboom of Van Rozeboom Interiors, Laura Trevey of Bright, Bold and Beautiful and Lisa Mende of Lisa Mende Design (Thanks for the pic, Lisa!)

A huge thank you to Kravet for organizing such an incredible, memorable event! If you want to read more about Blogfest, there are a lot of great recaps and photos out there. Here's a list of all the attendees!

Before I sign off, I cannot forget to announce the winner of the Isola Bella giveaway!!
